The Darkglass Microtubes 500 packs two switchable Darkglass preamp circuits — the B3K and the Vintage Microtubes — into a robustly built yet lightweight bass head. A 4-band active EQ with switchable mid centers brings out the bite in your bass and tames the low-mid wool — two essential ingredients in achieving a modern rock and metal tone. Performance is efficient and studio quiet; the aluminum chassis acts as a heatsink to keep your amp running cool even when you redline it. Of course, the Microtubes 500 is no mere little brother to the Microtubes 900. New additions include a headphone output for silent practice, a more convenient front-located footswitch jack (footswitch not included), and a streamlined back panel for easier navigation on dark stages.

Headphone and XLR outputs for practice and tracking

The addition of a headphone out and XLR direct out give the Microtubes 500 unbeatable value. Now you can take your stage tone to the practice room or recording studio without hauling your cab. A switchable pre-/post-EQ sends a wet or dry tone out to a live soundboard or recording medium for tonal flexibility.
