JIMS 800 pays tribute to classic, guitar-driven rock. So, brace yourself as an unparalleled rock guitar tone gets up in your face!

Harnessing the cutting-edge TC Ampworx component-based modelling technology, we've successfully encapsulated the prowess of a glorious and iconic guitar head from the 80’s – all within a compact pedal. You’ll get the power of that era's unmistakable guitar tone right at your feet.

However, our commitment to delivering the ultimate guitar-hero experience went beyond merely reproducing the sound. We took great care to preserve the pedal's authentic look and feel, remaining true to the original amplifier. Every detail, from the control layout to the overall design, has been meticulously crafted to evoke nostalgia, as well as give an intuitive and familiar interface.

But why stop there? Why not enhance the guitar-playing experience without compromising the original tone and vibe? Well, we added a few ingenious additions that will enhance life for guitarists, uniting the best from the original amp with added modern and versatile features.

Modeling One Amp. But Perfectly!
Modeling One Amp. But Perfectly!

When it comes to digital amp modeling, there are numerous approaches. However, our focus was on merging accuracy and simplicity. JIMS 800 is dedicated to emulating a single iconic amp, rather than overwhelming you with an array of countless amp models and versions.

The goal was to capture the essence and sonic characteristics with remarkable precision that is guaranteed to ignite inspiration. It was also a high priority to add an intuitive control layout that lets you navigate effortlessly. So, we eliminated unnecessary complexities, which enables you to focus wholeheartedly on what truly matters: playing!

In other words, your gain is a perfect balance of accuracy and simplicity, empowering you to fully immerse yourself in your musical expression.

Dual Channel or Stompbox
Dual Channel or Stompbox

The first time you plug into JIMS 800, it’ll be in Dual Channel mode. In this mode, the pedal is always on, allowing you to easily switch between the two channels and access their distinct sonic profiles, exactly as it was in the original amp.

But if you’re more into the classic stompbox experience, we also made a Bypass Mode available. This mode simply allows you to toggle the pedal on and off, and in this scenario, you choose which of the two channels you want to punch in and out of your signal chain.

Whether you opt for the versatile Dual Channel mode or the familiar simplicity of the Bypass Mode, JIMS 800 delivers uncompromising performance power. The choice is yours – there’s never just one correct way to rock out!

Curing the Treble Bleeding
Curing the Treble Bleeding

It's a common understanding among guitarists that the original amp had a tendency to sound a bit sharp or edgy. And back in the day, many users sought out a modification to fix the ‘Treble Bleed’.

Acknowledging the significance of this modification, we took it into careful consideration during the development of this pedal. Instead of completely eliminating the treble bleed, we decided to reduce its intensity. This adjustment gives you a touch of warmth to the overall sound, while still staying true to the essence of the original amp.

Our aim was not only to faithfully replicate, but also to capture the authentic response of the users who interacted with it during its prime. By incorporating important yet subtle modifications, we respect both the original experience and the feedback of those who embraced the amp.

Built-in G12-65 4x12 Cab
Built-in G12-65 4x12 Cab

The cab speaker plays a crucial role in any combo, and thanks to the advancements in convolution-based IR technology, we can now capture the essence of the past with exceptional precision and authenticity.

To give you the true sound of the original, we joined forces with the speaker expert that has supplied cab speakers for countless iconic guitar combos throughout the history of music: Celestion.

After thorough evaluation, we incorporated the official Celestion impulse response of the revered G12-65 4x12 speaker cab. It's a divine match that reproduces every nuance of your riffs and solos with equal amounts of ease and elegance.

Custom Tonestack
Custom Tonestack

Inherited from its predecessors, the tone control layout and center frequencies of the original amp served as the foundation for its iconic sound. However, as time passed, guitarists began to look for the greater versatility of more modern amps.

To meet this demand, we made careful adjustments to the center frequencies while preserving the overall sound and feel. These subtle modifications enhance the pedals tonal capabilities without compromising its legendary character.

The result is a meticulously tailored custom tonestack that empowers you with a level of versatility that surpasses the limitations of the original. With a broader range of control, you can now explore new territories and initiate even greater creative journeys: JIMS 800 not only honors the legacy of the past but also propels you towards new musical horizons.

The Ins and Outs of It All
The Ins and Outs of It All

JIMS 800 offers a versatile range of output options. When utilizing the HEADPHONES or DI, the cabinet IR is seamlessly integrated, delivering an immersive and authentic tone directly to your ears or recording interface. This is great for silent rehearsing or when recording, as well as when performing live, where the DI output is perfect for connecting directly to a mixing desk.

Also, if you prefer to connect to an amp or use JIMS 800 along with a dedicated Cabinet IR Loader, the Line OUT option lets you bypass the built-in cabinet simulation. This flexibility allows you to customize and tailor your sound to meet your specific taste and setup.

Importantly, you can utilize all of the outputs simultaneously. One obvious - and very likely - scenario would be to feed your amp on the stage via the Line OUT, while at the same time sending a cab-sim feed via the DI to FOH or your PA system.

Gain Powerhouse
Gain Powerhouse

While the second channel of the original is renowned for its high-gain lead capabilities, we couldn't resist adding just a touch of additional gain. This subtle boost serves to tip your sound just a bit further over the edge without messing with the original amp’s feel and experience.

With this slightly altered high-gain channel, you can unleash soaring tones that will captivate the crowd by pushing the boundaries and expanding the realm of rock guitar even further.

There Is No Time Like the Presence
There Is No Time Like the Presence

With the inclusion of the global PRESENCE knob on the rear panel, the JIMS 800 preamp pedal seamlessly adapts to any musical situation you may encounter.

Chances are that JIMS 800 will be paired with a diverse range of amps, cabs and pedals, making it impossible to fine-tune it for each specific scenario. That's why we added this convenient and intuitive control, allowing you to set and forget the overall direction of your sound.

If you find that the default setting suits your needs perfectly, there's no need to make any adjustments. However, if you desire a subtle hint of brightness or a touch of extra warmth to suit your personal preferences, simply adjust the PRESENCE knob to your liking.

The global PRESENCE control empowers you to shape and refine your tone, ensuring a harmonious blend with your chosen gear and providing the flexibility needed to express your musical vision. Say goodbye to compromise and embrace a sound that resonates with your unique artistic identity.
